Easingwold Scout District is the area's longest standing provider of services for young people - and we would love to get you involved!
Part of the UK's biggest mixed youth organisation we change lives by offering six to 18 year-olds fun and challenging activities, unique experiences, everyday adventure and the chance to help others so that we make a positive impact in the community.
Our young people take part in activities as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, expeditions overseas, photography, climbing and zorbing. They can learn survival skills, first aid, computer programming, or even how to fly a plane. Itís a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity and experience the wider world.
This everyday adventure is possible thanks to our adult volunteers, who support beavers, cubs and scouts in a wide range of roles from working directly with young people, to helping manage a group, to being a charity trustee. We help volunteers get the most out of their experiences at scouts by providing opportunities for adventure, training, fun and friendship.
We are working hard to improve opportunities for all young people: our executive committee is applying for funding to get a community minibus for local schools, youth groups and voluntary services; 1st Kyle Valley have recently opened a brand new scout hut in Tholthope for use by local groups; and 1st Easingwold is developing the Easingwold Outdoor Centre which gets up to 200 young people a week out into the countryside; and in 2015 we organised a well-attended community fun day for local families.
Easingwold Scout District has an ambitious development programme and is determined to give more young people and adult volunteers from all backgrounds the chance to benefit from everything scouting has to offer.
Now you can join the adventure too! Contact us to get involved.
